A Night to Myself!

I attended a college friend’s baby shower this afternoon in Sanford ME and left my baby with Grammie and Auntie.  Auntie is going to bring her home tomorrow.  Andy is away with work.  So where does that leave me?  Home alone!  This is the first time since Elle was born that I’ve had the place to myself!  I have a million and one things I want to get done before everyone gets home.  I am sure I’ll get through about 1/3 of them.

The whole way home from the baby shower, I was hoping that my new Summer Idea Book would be waiting for me in the mailbox (consultants get theirs the first week of April and they go live on May 1).  I saw a sneak peak on the consultant web page and it looked like the best yet…. I wasn’t disappointed.  The Idea Book was in the mailbox and in my opinion, really is the best one Close To My Heart has ever put out.  The papers are just amazing.  There is a great nature/camping themed kit, a beautiful tropical travel and beach kit, as well as a great kit for kiddie pictures featuring Clover Meadow, Dutch Blue, Sunflower and Tulip.  Those amongst us who love flowers and purple won’t be denied either!  You are just going to be thrilled when you get to see it in May!

After flopping down on the couch with a blanket and perusing the new catalog, I quickly got motivated to clean my house!  The place looked like a hurricane blew through, as 2 two year olds spent way too much time indoors last week while it rained!  It is amazing how fast you can get things done when you don’t have someone going around behind you undoing what you just did!  In just a couple hours I got most everything done.  The toy room still needs a major overhaul, but I think that will wait!

We cropped last night in Jefferson. The Debbies were there and always keep things exciting!  We did the That’s Amore workshop.  The pages came out great and everyone came away with a few new techniques for their toolbox!  We substituted chocolate ribbon for the faux brown ribbon that the workshop guide called for.  My girlfriend and fellow scrapper, Tara, would call this customization!  The edge anchors really added a nice accent to the page.  I will try to take some pictures of our pages and post them.

I really should spend some time organizing my workspace here at home.  We have one room that houses the computer my scrap table and supplies as well as file cabinets full of teaching supplies that I couldn’t bring myself to part with when I left my classroom to stay home with Elle.  Needless to say our space is cramped and a little organization would go a long way!  I have grandiose dreams of a beautiful scrap room…..

Things are starting to come into place for the Spring Crop at Leavitt Park in Laconia.  The kids and I spent one day last week delivering flyers around town, and I have a list of folks I want to send flyers to this week.  Registrations have started coming in.  I can’t wait, it will be a lot of fun and you are going to love the new paper kits and accessories that are going to be in your goodie bags.

Okay, off to tackle my list.  Have a great weekend.  Do some scrapping!  Jennifer
