A New Bike!

Before Andy left for A.T. he and Elle discussed buying a new bike.  She had become a pro on her little plastic one and Daddy thought it was time for an upgrade.  Andy told her if she was a good girl while he was gone, they would go bike shopping when he returned.  All Elle could talk about for two weeks was how her and Daddy were going to go shopping for a new bike and helmet.  Andy returned Friday night and Sunday they took a break from yard work, while it rainned, and went shopping for this fancy new pink and purple bike!  She couldn't be any prouder of her new wheels!

We Went To The Beach!

Last Thursday was one of those rare gifts from mother nature that we sometimes get here in the great state of NH!  After a long winter, we certainly deserve more gifts like this.  The weatherman said the temperatures would be in the 90s and it only took one yell to Elle, "Do you want to go to the beach?" for her to spring out of bed and hunt down her swimsuit!

Great Island Common, in New Castle NH is only about an hour and 15 minute drive from our house.  Just perfect for day trips.  The Common is just a perfect spot for toddlers and young children.  It is three dollars for adults and the kids are free.  Folks park in the small parking lot, or along the road that circles the park.  It is so much safer than trying to get the kids out of the car at Hampton Beach with all of the traffic racing by.  When you and the kids have had enough of the sandy beach, the common has a great playground, with climbing structures, swings, sandbox and plenty of shady spots to have a picnic.

Some moms might cringe at this picture, but with one pail of ocean water it quickly washed away and Elle had so much fun playing in the mud.  Think of all those brain synapses connecting!  This is what childhood is all about!

This is the view from the beach.  The kids and I walked down to the rocks and tried climbing on them.  This is a very challenging task for two year olds, but that didn't stop them from trying!  We saw some lobster boats on their way out to their traps and folks in kayacks.  The beach was bustling.  I think many kids may have taken a 'personal health' day from school to enjoy the weather with their moms and dads!

The kids were super all day and earned themselves a stop at the ice cream stand on the way home.  The Ice House Restaurant is right there between the beach and Route 1.  Both kids choose vanilla ice cream in a bowl with a cone on top!  You should have seen the mess we made on the picnic table!  We tried our best to clean it up.  The best two 2 year olds can do!  I don't think we were out to the traffic circle and both kids were fast asleep.

These photos are going to look awesome on Moon Doggie Paper!  I can't wait!

Leavitt Park Crop was Great Fun!

Wow, I worked so hard organizing and planning for this event, that now that it is over I am feeling a little lost, without anything to focus on!  However, in September, I will be hosting a benefit crop for the Jefferson Public Library, so that will give me lots to focus on in the coming weeks!

Leavitt Park was a lot of fun!  We ended up using all of our cropping hours.  We started at 8:30 and went right through until 10:30!  Everyone had something different to work on.  Kim was working on wedding pictures, Sue was putting together a very cool portfolio album of her recent trip, Deb was creating pre made pages, Linda was working on her daughters second year album, Carrie used her Animal Cookie paper to do a page about her cat, Deanna did several workshop kits and Tara completed a Stardust page before being called away.

Deb and Kim partook in the Animal Cookie workshop and just loved stamping those adorable little flowers!  Both are hooked!  Close To My Heart just makes such a great product that it is hard not be sold the very first time you use it.  The clear blocks and stamps just make stamping a breeze and take all of the guess work out of it.  The Workshop kits are so wonderfully put together that they make even the novice scrapbooker look like a pro on their very first page!

We had so much fun and worked so hard, that we forgot to take pictures.  Here are a few pictures of pages I completed that day.

I love the picture of Elle on the slide with the little moose sticker!

How cute is this little lobster die cut?  Just perfect for pictures of the Lobster Shack in Cape Elizabeth.

A very special thank you to Deanna who stayed after and helped me clean up and to my mom for watching Elle all day!

The double sided paper lends itself nicely to any scrapbook theme, not just children’s pages.  I can’t wait to get my page put together for you all to see.

Included in your goodie bag will be a full packet of level 2 Animal Cookie paper, two sheets of Animal Cookie Stickease (stickers), white ricrac, an entire package of foam die cut numbers and an Animal Cookie workshop guide!  You will also receive the new Summer Idea Book.

Workshop!

A workshop using the Animal Cookies paper will be offered.  You can choose to participate and make a great two page layout, or not and use your paper in your own creative way.  If you choose to do the workshop, you will get to use my assortment of inks, including Clover Meadow, Dutch Blue, Sunflower and Tulip.  I will have the new Field Trip alphabet stamp available along with the Sweet Baby My Acrylix stamp.  We will use these two brand new stamps in the amazing colors above to make your workshop pages pop!

Stardust Workshop

Stardust is May’s workshop.  We completed these on Friday night at the New Hampton Community Church.  I’m always skeptical about how the workshops are going to actually look, and then when they are done I just love them!  There hasn’t been a workshop yet that has disappointed me.  Stardust is a great combination of green blue and yellow.   If you complete all of the layouts in the workshop guide you have three finished 2 page layouts.  However, with this kit you easily have paper enough to make two if not 3 more layouts and some great cards too.

Do you have pictures that would go perfectly with this paper?  Order this workshop kit under Workshop in the Mail or attend Cropping night at the Waumbec Methna Club House in Jefferson on May 8th at 7:00.

We Saw a Moose!

We celebrated Grammie Mac’s 75th birthday yesterday!  We did the whole trip up and back in one day.  Elle did well considering she doesn’t seem to be feeling 100% this weekend.  We got to Berlin in time to pick up a few summer clothes items for Elle on the $1.97 rack at JCP!  Who can beat $1.97!

Elle enjoyed playing on the Playground at Ed Finn before we went to the party.  They have this great balance beam and swirly slide that Elle loved.  On our way home we ‘ran into’ a special treat.  A mom and her twin baby moose were eating along side the road.  Unfortunately we experienced a little camera technical difficulty and didn’t get a good shot of the mom who was standing just feet from the car.  Here is a picture of one of her babies.
